May is the Month of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God
I’ve been doing these monthly posts every month, for so long (9 or 10 years), that I am starting to feel the need to shake it up somehow…maybe literally? What if I come up with a bunch of ideas regarding the monthly themes, and pick them out of a hat (or a plastic cup)? Let me make a list of what these could be:
1) Refer to an old post on this blog.
2) What does the old Catholic Encyclopedia have to say?
3) What does Fr. John Hardon’s Modern Catholic Dictionary have to say?
4) What does the Catechism have to say?
5) What have the Church Fathers or saints had to say about this topic?
6) What about Holy Scripture?
7) Has the Church made official pronouncements related to the theme?
8) Can I recommend some books or other products?
9) Is there a traditional hymn?
10) Is there text from the Mass, a prayer or a devotion?
11) What does EWTN have to say?
12) What does the Vatican News have to say?
13) What about history relating to this monthly dedication?
14) How does the theme relate to the Liturgical Calendar (this could be challenging)?
15) How does it relate to the Pro-Life cause?
16) Is there an apostolate or religious order dedicated to this person or gift of our Faith?
17) Is there a location we could focus on?
18) Can we come up with new ideas on how to celebrate the theme in a family or seasonal way? Can we work it into our homeschooling?
Okay, I am liking this idea, so let’s put it into action RIGHT NOW! I will have my husband Don pick it out of a cup (they will be eliminated as we go)…..
He Picked Traditional Hymn!
That is such a great (and easy) one for Our Lady. It’s a great idea to learn prayers in Latin, and here is a wonderful one below. The Latin language is lyrical by nature, and lends itself to song. The words here are so beautiful, they speak to the glory of the Mother of God. Simply articulating these words seems to open up the clouds…
Franz Schubert’s “Ave Maria”
Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.
Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.
Amen.
In this month of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we celebrate Our Lady of Fatima on the 13th, which is the date of her first apparition. This year, this is also the Vigil of the Ascension and a Lesser Rogations Day. Are we to be joyful or penitential? You decide. We have one more Marian feast in the post-conciliar calendar, Mary Mother of the Church, on the 25th (which is also +Memorial Day+ and within the Octave of Pentecost in the trad). It is fitting that Mothers Day is in Our Lady’s month and don’t forget Saint Monica on the 4th, known for being the great mother of Saint Augustine.
As touched upon above, the Ascension of Our Lord, Ascension Thursday, is the 14th, with some dioceses transferring it to Sunday, the 17th. Pentecost Sunday is the 24th (with a vigil) and the Most Holy Trinity, the 31st.
This is an interesting month, in that we have both the Lesser Rogation Days and the Ember Days (being more specific to the seasons). Double prayer and penance, 3 days each (do a search on this blog for more info).
The US Armed Forces Day is the 16th. Please remember our young men and women in prayer.
We can take all these opportunities this month to pray and sacrifice for world peace and an abatement of the looming energy, supply and food crisis, what we might call polycrises or multi-front attack vectors (some entity is pulling the strings to create a perfect storm, if you are paying attention, this is very obvious…and that entity is ultimately Satan). Our Lady of Fatima, to whom this ministry is dedicated and who we honor this month, gave us the antidote to these times in her requests!
Some other notable feasts this month:
5th-Pope Saint Pius V
11th-Saints Philip & James, Apostles
11th to 13th-Lesser Rogations
15th-Saint Isidore the Farmer (we like him, post-con) Saint Isidore, pray for those who are now vulnerable to hunger, due to the lack of, or the expense of fertilizer or other needed supplies in food production and transport.
18th-Pope Leo XIV, Inauguration Anniversary
27th, 29th, 30th-Ember Days of the Coming Summer

The Resurrection of Our Lord Easter Sunday
As the war situation dangerously escalates, let us observe a solemn Easter Sunday.
The discussion below focuses on the war crimes of the United States and Israel, upon Iran. As we feast this day, let not forget the mothers weeping over their children who are gone, on the other side of the world…
IRAN WAR: Bridges, Electric Power Plants Next / Lt Col Daniel Davis & Robert Barnes
From the notes:
“Robert Barnes [Constitutional Lawyer] argues that recent actions by U.S. leadership constitute clear war crimes, citing public statements like no mercy, no quarter as explicit violations of international law and the Pentagon’s own rules. They stress that following orders is not a valid defense, referencing the precedent set by the Nuremberg trials, meaning military personnel could also be held accountable. They warn that although accountability may seem unlikely in the moment (since enforcement depends on power), violations of law and principle still stand regardless of consequences. Potential future consequences could include: Impeachment of the president, Congressional pushback or defunding of war efforts, Criminal prosecution of political and military leaders by a future administration, Possible international prosecution. The speaker also criticizes a pattern of unchecked executive power, arguing that earlier unconstitutional actions signaled that leaders would face no consequences, encouraging further escalation. Additionally, they claim internal turmoil within leadership: Officials who disagreed were sidelined or fired, Intelligence reportedly found no imminent threat justifying the war, The president is described as increasingly erratic and prone to scapegoating others. Overall, the [conversation] portrays a situation where illegal wartime actions, lack of accountability, and deteriorating leadership decision-making could lead to serious political, legal, and institutional consequences in the future.”

April is the Month of the Most Holy Eucharist, Part 1
Running late on this, much of my time now is tracking the war and doing my own prepping. Thank you for your patience.
As you all know, this is Holy Week, so let us pray for peace this week and into the Easter Triduum. We are being given this opportunity for great graces to help mitigate this tragic global situation.
Encourage your friends and family to prepare in whatever ways they can. We are only as strong as our weakest link. Together we will be strong and we will get through the coming days. God is with His people.
If you know you are right with God, do not let your inner peace be disturbed. If you are not right with God, then get right with the great Sacrament of Penance.
May God have mercy upon us all at this hour!
"When they shall say peace and security..."
1st Epistle of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians, Chapter 5
“…For yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall so come, as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, peace and security; then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. For all you are the children of light, and children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do; but let us watch, and be sober. For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunk, are drunk in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breastplate of faith and charity, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us unto wrath, but unto the purchasing of salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us; that, whether we watch or sleep, we may live together with him.
For which cause comfort one another; and edify one another, as you also do.
…Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In all things give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you all. Extinguish not the spirit. Despise not prophecies.
…The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”

Why the Russia/Ukraine Conflict Matters, What You Haven't Been Told
This is just one of many global issues which are cause for concern right now…not fear, concern…up your preps. The following is courtesy of my forum friend (this guy knows his stuff and he’s technically brilliant) over at Peak Prosperity, “PNW Defector,” slightly edited, with my comments in italics…
1 million dead Russians. All I see is grieving mothers.
1-1.2 million dead Ukranians. More grieving mothers. A whole generation of boys gone.
At least 50,000 dead in Ukraine’s invasion of Russia’s Kursk region. Many civilians, including children.
Daily kamikazee drone attacks against military and civilian infrastructure deep inside of Russian territory. More dead civilians.
As far north as St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast (which couldn’t have been launched from Ukraine). Who helped them?
Carrying 350 pounds of HE, laden with steel bearings/shrapnel, by Ukraine against targets deep inside of Russia. Brutal.
The first use of an intermediate range ballistic missile in war. By Russia, and it was a game-changer. See article below.
Attacks against Russian soil with US, French and UK supplied cruise missiles. It’s already an international war.
The destruction of 1/3 of Russia’s over-the-horizon early warning radar systems that belong to its core nuclear national defense infrastructure. Russia has been very patient…and no, Russia’s initial attack on Ukraine was not unprovoked. This is all part of the globalists’ attempt to re-create the world so a global government can be installed. Yes, there’s a lot more to this story, I’ve been doing the research for 2 decades. I’m not taking sides, just giving the info.
United States at DEFCON Alert 3 since July 2022, with several instances that led it to 2 (1 being highest alert). Who’s paying attention?
CNN article from November 22nd, 2024:
Putin says Russia launched a new missile in Ukraine. Here’s what we know…
“In response to the use of American and British long-range weapons, on November 21 of this year the Russian armed forces launched a combined strike on one of the facilities of the Ukrainian defense industry,” Putin said in a televised statement on Thursday…Putin also said that Moscow considers itself entitled to use weapons against military targets belonging to countries that allow their weapons to be used against Russia. He said that Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked targets in Russia’s Bryansk region with six US-made ATACMS missiles on Tuesday and later fired British/French Storm Shadow systems on the Kursk region…The United Nations Secretary General’s spokesperson warned on Thursday that Russia’s use of a new, medium-range ballistic missile is “yet another concerning and worrying development”…This week, both US and British/French-made missiles have been fired into Russia by Ukraine, after US President Joe Biden gave Ukraine permission to use longer-range American missiles across the border….In turn, Putin updated Russia’s nuclear doctrine, with the Kremlin saying the revised military doctrine would in theory lower the bar for first use of nuclear weapons.
Let us continue to pray for peace. Hopefully, we will see a de-escalation of this war in the coming year.

March is the Month of Saint Joseph
The icon above is so sweet, how it portrays the Child Jesus’ love and affection for His Foster-Father, whose feast we celebrate this month on the 19th. May we further our own love for Saint Joseph during his month of March, as we also embark on the Season of Lent.
Ash Wednesday is the 2nd of the month-we begin Lent by contemplating our mortality and performing penance. There has never been a time in our lives when the world has needed more prayer and penance, so let us observe this Lent as well as we can, without stressing ourselves too much. When we stress ourselves, it has an immediate affect on those around us. As Saint Paul reminded us in the Quinquagesima Epistle:
“If I speak with the tongues of men, and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries, and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And if I should distribute all my goods to feed the poor, and if I should deliver my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing…And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity.”
1 Corinthians 13:1
Adding to the penitential spirit of Lent, we have the Ember Days on the 9th, 11th and 12th. This is a time to pray and offer for blessings and mercy upon the coming season of Spring.
We remember the great event of The Annunciation of the Lord on the 25th. Some other notable saints which March celebrates are: 20th-century Saint, Katherine Drexel…martyrs invoked in the Canon, Felicity & Perpetua…Doctors of the Church Saint Thomas Aquinas, Pope Saint Gregory the Great, Saint Cyril of Jerusalem and Saint John Damascene…our beloved Saint Patrick and Saint Gabriel the Archangel, just prior to The Annunciation. Let us give special mention to Saint Isidore the Farmer, who we particularly like here at Nomen Christi Apostolate!
What may we do this month to honor our dear Saint Joseph? Of course, last year was the Year of Saint Joseph. Maybe we could gain some inspiration from those former indulgences.
Finally, let us pray for peace, especially in the Ukraine. But remember, we live in an illusory world, where nothing is what it seems and the truth is often not what we are told. There is always more to the story. There is always information we are not privy to. But let us not forget the World Wars already waging…the war upon the unborn and the vulnerable…and the war upon freedom combined with the Covid bioweapon and the “Mystery Injection” being touted as a vaccine. Of course we never despair-we trust in the Most Holy Trinity, because we are God’s children and we know He loves us!
Here is your traditional Month of March calendar. Lenten blessings to all…
