March is the Month of Saint Joseph

Nomen Christi Apostolate Prayer to Saint Joseph

O Saint Joseph, Guardian of Our Lord and Our Lady, intercede for us before the Divine Majesty. O holy and humble carpenter, pray for God's children in all our great need. We pray this in the Name of the Christ Child, once held in your loving arms.

Amen.

This Lenten month of Saint Joseph begins straight away with Ember Wednesday in Lent, on the 1st. Ember Friday and Saturday ensue. Traditionally, meat is eaten at only one meal on the Ember Days. Of course, these days are for prayer and penance for the benefit of the coming season. So what do you do on the Ember Days of Lent? More prayer and penance? Well, that’s one idea. The Ember Days present a particularly nice opportunity to do seasonal crafts with children, teaching them to love our holy Faith. Pray on it and maybe do some reading on the Ember Days, to decide how you will celebrate them. Reading the beautiful Mass texts is always quite rewarding.

We have Saint Joseph’s feast on the 20th this year, because the 19th falls on a Sunday. This date is also the Spring Equinox. The Annunciation is celebrated on the 25th.

Let us also seek out devotions to our dear Saint Joseph this month and pray to grow closer to the Heart of Christ as we approach the great feast of His Resurrection!

Follow-Up to Last Post: "No College Mandates"

No College Mandates: Restoring Medical Freedom

“We are a group of concerned parents, doctors, nurses, professors, students and other college stake holders working towards the common goal of ending COVID-19 vaccine mandates.”

This organization is US based. You can find, on the above link (if you scroll down) listings of the mandate status of many colleges. They also write letters to schools expressing their views on the mandates.

Nuremberg 2.0

“Were the injections required for all the students?”

“Yes.”

In spite of the overwhelming evidence against the Covid shots, particularly the danger for young people, Harvard (and likely other universities) continues to require them for students, but not for most faculty.

Here’s the proof.

The "Do it Now Principle"

Marla Cilley, also known as “Flylady,” is a homemaker’s helper, particularly with cleaning and organizing. She has videos, books and wonderful cleaning products (I’ve bought some!). She talks about the “Do it Now Principle,” which means, if you see something that can be done quickly and easily, don’t wait for later, just “do it now.” As the world situation is heating up, this is also a great tenet for preppers.

I will give you a real-life example from my own life today. I drove to the grocery store and when I got out of the car, realized I had forgotten my purse. I used to have a small amount of emergency money in my car, but the last time I used it, I neglected to replace it. Not that it would have been enough to do all my shopping, but I could at least have gotten a box of chocolate eclairs….I mean some low-carb snack bars….before heading back home.

So…I went back home, got my purse and immediately replenished my emergency money. I felt like a good prepper again. It is empowering and motivating to take care of yourself. It instantly lifts your mood and this world could use a little mood-lifting.

So, next time you notice something that needs attention, think of the “Do it Now Principle,” and….do it now!

loads of fun for the “select group of human beings”

(This is how John Kerry referred to himself and the other Weffers in attendance.)

These plans are moving forward aggressively. They are all-in.

If this is what they are telling us, what are they hiding?

What happens to those who refuse to conform?

They are busy-bees, looking forward. So must we be. They talk about the Great Reset. We must begin creating the Greater Reset, the Newer World Order, an authentic life, close to God and nature. They talk a lot about nature, but it is doublespeak.

We are up against Satan himself, an evil genius, the likes of which we are no match for…without God.

Evil is always self-defeating. We win.

Another Empty-Nester Conversation

Me: I think I’m starting to look old.

My husband: I don’t think so.

Me: That’s because you’re blinded by love.

My husband: I do need new glasses.

Me: I go get a foot massage and a latte.

Yes, these are actual conversations, tweaked only slightly for literary purposes.

Our Lady of Lourdes

She is the brightness of eternal light, and the unspotted mirror. Beautiful aurora of salvation, out of thee, O Virgin Mary, came forth the sun of justice Who has visited us, the orient from on high.

Update

Some of you may know I suffered a traumatic brain injury (concussion) last summer and some of the symptoms suddenly got worse about 2 months ago. The main problem is light sensitivity (abnormal dilation) and what is called “convergence insufficiency,” having to do with focus. This makes electronics difficult and it must be limited. I am sitting here right now with the brightness on zero and wearing sunglasses. Even taking these measures, I still must limit exposure to the minimum and gradually get back to normal as I am able. I am now in vision therapy and do see slow improvement. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

As for the WEF Series, I will be putting a post up about “brain transparency,” but first, I would like to do a general introduction, which I am working on.

No I’m not gonna talk about the Chinese “spy balloon.” The whole society has become an incomprehensible clown show and my plan is to cut out and do my own thing with other good Catholics in some rural area. I don’t say this is for everyone, but we all must pray and discern what God wants from us at this insane and pivotal time in human history. I want to come up with a joke about that balloon, but it is its own joke (anyway, everyone else is doing that-check out the memes!). The world is so absurd now, you can’t even parody it.

February is the Month of the Passion of Our Lord

How may we honor the Passion of Our Blessed Lord this month? Well, that’s not too hard, since Lent begins on the 22nd. There are numerous devotions to the Passion…we all know the wonderful Sorrowful Mysteries, which some say every day of Lent. Do your research, choose something and begin with the onset of Lent. It is always great to learn new devotions. If you find them online, do print them out…a very Catholic Prepper thing to do!

We are in the third month of what I have coined the “Christological Triad of the Months.” I previously suggested that we meditate upon the Divine Infancy, the Holy Name and the Passion of Our Lord, and how they might interrelate. We begin with the birth of Christ and the triad ends with His death. Joining the two is His Holy Name. The name of Jesus is a mystery we could easily contemplate our entire lives. Suffice it to say that it has something to do with His Identity and is therefore quite sacred, relating directly to the 2nd Commandment. Let us pray that we can all receive some enlightenment by the Holy Ghost on this interesting matter.

Don’t forget Septuagesima starts on the 5th and is our preparation for Lent, so we do not come to Lent saying to ourselves, “What am I doing? Oh no, it’s Lent already! I just drank my coffee. Am I giving up coffee? Oh nooooooooooo!” (I’m not giving up coffee. I did that once and almost died.)

In the trad Liturgical Calendar, we are closing the Time After Epiphany, which concludes the Cycle of Christmas, when we contemplate the Mystery of the Incarnation. The Cycle of Easter, the Mystery of the Redemption, begins at Septuagesima (I am not typing that word again, it is hurting my post-concussive brain) and remains for the rest of the year, going through various sub-sections.
